Before establishing NPA managing consultant Tim Nicholson was a director of a successful building conservation company and worked as an independent building surveyor specialising in timber frame and other vernacular buildings. His experience at the sharp end of conservation working for the National Trust, church councils, conservation architects, major property PLCs and private owners has given Tim an enviable insight into the conservation process . Tim has particular expertise in the reuse and adaption of historic buildings and has an extensive knowledge of traditional construction techniques, defects analysis and the preparation of specifications for conservation projects. He has a special interest and knowledge of vernacular architecture and buildings of non-standard construction.
Tim has a Master of Science degree in Conservation of the Historic Environment from the College of Estate Management, University of Reading.
Consultant Clare Price MA (Cantab) MScCHE, worked for many years at a senior level for a firm of international real estate consultants before pursuing a freelance career and her passion for historic buildings. Clare has particular expertise in the research and preparation of heritage reports, conservation plans and listing applications, and has completed projects for major pension funds, national charities and Church of England churches. Clare has a special interest in nineteenth and twentieth architecture and her current work include research into a number of historic shop fronts and churches from these periods.
Clare has a Master of Science degree in Conservation of the Historic Environment from the College of Estate Management, University of Reading.
In order to meet the needs of a particular project NPA also work with various partners to ensure the most appropriate skills and knowledge is being offered to their clients. Successful conservation relies on the integration of accumulated knowledge and experienced people: NPA bring these elements together to ensure the best possible results for their clients.
